All about Figheldean St Michael & All Angels

There is a wide range of church activity both within the church building and in the village. The church is well maintained and has a friendly and active PCC. All are committed to learning more of the way of Christ, expressed through worship that is alive and relevant to all ages. Our monthly All Age Worship service is usually lay led.

Figheldean itself is a compact old village with some modern infill. The Parish also includes the hamlet of Ablington. Most employment for civilians is provided by surrounding military camps and MOD establishments and there is very little unemployment.  The population is a good mix of retired people, professionals, military personnel, civil servants and trades people and a very few weekend / holiday cottages.

Village amenities include a Working Men’s Club and Brambles nursery school. Figheldean has a modern Village Hall, and there is an adjoining football field and childrens’ playground.

The village school has recently moved to new premises in Larkhill and is now known as St Michael's C of E Primary School Larkhill. The school has excellent relations with the village and the church, and a lively PTA.
