Safeguarding
In the Diocese of Salisbury, we recognise the need to provide a safe, warm environment for children, youth and adults so that those who have suffered abuse feel supported and welcome.
We recognise that, to achieve a safe environment, we need to create an atmosphere of knowledgeable awareness where the unthinkable can be thought and discussed.
We also recognise that to help and support those giving their time to nurture children, young people and adults within the Church, clear guidelines, training and advice need to be given.

The Avon River Team Safeguarding Officer is Victoria Hewkin. Please read her bio below
"I'm Victoria, the team Safeguarding Officer and I live in Bulford with my husband and our three children. I feel really fortunate to be able to worship within the Avon River Team where we have a diversity of beautiful church buildings and services. There is always plenty going on and I really hope that you will join us for some of our services or activities, or drop in for a cup of tea and a piece of cake. Everyone has the right to feel safe and welcome at all times in our church community. If you have a Safeguarding concern, do not hesitate; you can talk to someone at any time by using the contact details on our Home Page. If you have a question about what we are doing to keep our children and vulnerable adults safe, please get in touch."
